4+ years as a Scum Master
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum frameworks
Coaching in environment where Agile and Scrum are not fully understood yet.
Proficient in Jira or similar tool
Scrum Master Certified
Knowledge of techniques XP, Kanban, TDD, Continuous Integration & testing, Pairing and automated testing
Purpose:
The Scrum Master is responsible for coaching and guiding development teams in Agile values and frameworks as well as scheduling and facilitating Scrum Team activities such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, and others. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for holding Scrum Team members accountable to their commitments and ensuring transparency of the Scrum Teams activities, impediments, setbacks and successes to key stakeholders. This position will play a key role in the planning and ongoing improvement of Scrum practices in the organization.
Accountabilities:
Coaches development team(s) and stakeholders to understand Scrum theory, practices, rules and values.
Coaches the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and suitable for the team and organization.
Facilitates Scrum ceremonies effectively, on cadence, while ensuring team participation (Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Reviews/Demos, Sprint Retrospectives and Sprint Planning
Guides the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
Helps improve the team’s software development and delivery through a deliberate focus on continuous improvement and learning culture.
Helps the Scrum Team understand backlog management techniques such as grooming and relative estimation.
Measures, evaluates and communicates team metrics.
Supports and educates the Product Owner on maximizing the value of the product and team via effective product backlog management.
Works with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of Scrum in the organization.
Acts as a servant-leader to remove impediments and protect the team from outside interruptions.
Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information.
Qualifications and Experience:
4+ years’ experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum practices.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Scrum framework and Agile techniques such as user stories, relative estimation, velocity, burn-downs, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of coaching development teams in organizational environments in which Scrum is not yet fully adopted and understood.
Demonstrated knowledge of large program/project management and scaled Agile methodologies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of Agile frameworks and techniques such as XP, Kanban, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, etc.
Proficiency in Jira or similar tool.
Scrum Master Certification required
Strong skills in servant leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency.
Bachelor''s Degree preferred.
