Required Skills:


? 5+ years of Business Objects (BO) Development and Reporting experience.

? 5+ years of SQL development including 4+ Years SQL and Performance Tuning

? 2+ years of Data Warehouse project experience

? 2+ Years Teradata Version 14+ experience including SQL Assistant

? Excellent verbal/written communication skills, end client facing skills, team collaboration, and mentoring skills

? Bachelors or Advanced Degree in a related field such as Information Technology/Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Analytics, Business Technology

? Strong organization skills and ability to set priorities and schedule work deadlines

? Adapting to the team and organizational culture

Preferred Skills:


? 2+ years of Business Objects (BO) Administrative experience.

? Experience in Tableau or SAS is a nice to have

Following are the notes on the position detail requirements:

Primary Job Responsibilities:

· Developing and analyzing highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance

· Evaluating products and upgrades for appropriateness and lead the implementation and upgrade strategies.

· Performing system backups and recovery using Symantec’s Backup Exec 2012 and or above.

· Analyzing IBM Tivoli logs and responds to alerts and errors.

· Monitoring of SAN storage with the knowledge and ability to react to alerts and errors

· Configuring and managing HP MSA Storage arrays

· Installing, configuring and administering Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher platforms on HP DLT Servers

· Installing, configuring and administering Microsoft SQL Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2.

· Managing Windows Server in multiple environments for application and report development, testing, training and production.

· Installing, configuring and managing SAP BI platform XIR4.1 sp6 and or above

· Standing up SAP BI environments for and or in case of a disaster situation

· Experience in Open Text BIQuery Development and Administration

o Administer and maintain Ad-hoc reporting models using Open Text BIQuery 10.5.1 or above

· Managing row level and object level securities using SAP Business Objects 4.1 sp6 or above environment

· Business Objects universe and report development

· Business Objects reporting experience on Teradata Platform is required

· Analyzing project requirements and develop detailed specifications for new and existing data warehouse reporting requirements

· Reviewing and validating the development of test data and scenarios incorporating extensive knowledge of the Agency’s business rules.

· Developing or acquiring test data and initiate tests to determine the accuracy of reporting logic to produce desired results.

· Communicating effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector.

· Meeting with users for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan. Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations.

· Working with the DBA and Data Modelers, facilitate modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer.

· Working with Developers and DBA to create and maintain design standards.

Other Requirements Notes:

· Strong emphasis on Business Objects skills – would like to see a resume history that is focused on Business Objects as primary skill for 5+ years

· Teradata related skills is also desirable and could be very helpful in winning the position

· Ability to work with end users / customers to understand the reporting requirements

· Ability to quickly learn new business area or technical skills based on project needs

· Ability to understand performance considerations of reporting requirements - able to debug and correct report performance issues

· Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation (to the source system); query/reporting performance, and analytical business value.

· Needs to be able to work independently and not rely on State or other team members to learn Business Objects - need someone at Senior level

· Experienced in BI Query, Business Objects, SQL, BTEQ, Multiload, Fastload, FastExport, Teradata V15.10 utilities, Microsoft Office, Unix Kornshell Scripting, Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2 or above, Ultra Edit tools

· Ability to be flexible to adapt to changes, supporting continuous improvement, and perform multiple responsibilities as required by the project team

· Performing additional duties that are normally associated with this position, as assigned

· Administrative experience with Windows Servers (preferred)

· Administrative experience with Backups and Storage (preferred)
