Job Duties and Responsibilities:
In this exciting role, you will direct and lead the Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (IA-COE) enabling the design, development and implementation of large-scale intelligent automation solutions that deliver business value across the organization.
Initially, this leader will partner with Information Technology management and business leaders to stand up the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) capability across the enterprise leveraging a federated development model. The IA-COE will partner with enterprise architecture, legal, information security, and other key stakeholders to define the automation development lifecycle (ADLC) to ensure minimum requirements are met while enabling effective and efficient delivery of automation solutions. The IA-COE will also be accountable for solution architecture and training to ensure the federated development teams are delivering scalable solutions to maximize the enterprise automation investment.

Key Job Responsibilities Include:
The Director of Intelligent Automation will define, gain alignment, and then execute the long-term Intelligent Automation strategy and will serve as a technology evangelist and leader in the adoption of new automation technologies. Once the RPA capability has been established and stabilized, the IA-COE will quickly shift gears to integrating RPA solutions with Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), artificial intelligence, and other automation tools to deploy end-to-end Intelligent Automation solutions across the Thrivent enterprise.
·Establishes the direction for direct reports, ensuring alignment and execution of department initiatives
·Establishes and manages budgets, schedules and performance standards to meet operating plan
·Accountable for developing and achieving an RPA architecture that enables scalability and efficiencies and responsible for driving and championing established best practices
·Define the long term Intelligent Automation vision and strategy and drive alignment amongst senior Technology and Business Leadership across all Thrivent business units and ensuring objectives align to enterprise goals.
·Builds and maintains a high-performing team; selects, develops, coaches, rewards and recognizes team members
·Creates and fosters an environment of innovation; removes roadblocks and enables strategic risk taking; advocates and inspire change management and adoption of behaviors and practices
·Sets direction and leads the management of external partners
·Influences directors and above, on key decisions as it relates to the Intelligent Automation strategy, as well as specific department plans and act as the “Change Champion” for Intelligent Automation with expert communication and influencing skills
·Directs the development of the Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence and provides thought leadership and guidance to the broader Intelligent Automation Community of Practice
·Utilizes knowledge to anticipate a wide range of future needs and opportunities and facilitates development of complex solutions
·Directs team in making critical decisions that define the direction of the program and impact company strategies; develops team to be more autonomous in decision-making
·Commits existing and new resources to accomplish operating objectives and future talent needs and leads strategic and operations planning of the area(s) directed
·Translates technology concepts into clear, digestible business appropriate language; crafts images, graphics or charts that provide extraordinary clarity or add impact to otherwise complex material and package presentations concisely for Senior Leadership

Required Experience
·Experience implementing RPA or other Scripting solutions from the ground up
·Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
·Experience with executive stakeholder management
·Experience with defining and executing a long-term strategy
·Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) practices and an understanding of how CI processes integrate with RPA use case identification and development
·10+ years of experience in technology
·5+ years of progressive management experience
·Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field

Preferred Experience
·Experience leading a Robotic Process Automation Program at a medium to large organization
·Project or Program Management experience
·Experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives
·Master’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field
·Experience in enterprise architecture
·Professional Certifications
