Reporting to and under the direction and guidance of the QA Architect, the Software QA Test Engineer – Principal plays a significant role in supporting and driving the tactical implementation of the QA Architect strategic vision for end-to-end software testing processes and product quality programs across the eClinicalWorks healthcare software product portfolio.



Key Responsibilities:

Decompose strategic objectives and concepts with varying levels of ambiguity into actionable plans and drive plan execution with QA Management - including but not limited to: full spectrum of testing (functional, automated, performance, recoverability); product, release and QA process quality metrics reporting; QA organizational structure and alignment to product pipelines


Contributes to the development of supporting QA Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions that define and guide QA operational standards for efficiency, quality output, uniformity of performance, reduced miscommunication and alignment to industry standards and regulations


Recognizing data as a company asset, oversees implementation of QA tools to ensure data capture audits to other operational data sources to drive the end goal of Quality Outcomes Reporting - providing information that can be leveraged to advance business mission and goals by building the foundation to shift from mere operational reporting to actionable insights




Recognize and manage integration points across organizational teams and systems to identify interdependencies/contention points, capture redundancies and inefficiencies, and facilitate consistent communications to drive to actionable quality product release proposals and plans to QA Managers to direct through their product team towers.

A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals and adept at working independently and collaboratively as needed


Strong leadership skills with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.


Proficient in oral, written, and presentation skills.

EDUCATION:


Bachelor’s degree required in technical, engineering or related field (CIS, MIS, HIMS)




QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 15 years of QA experience required

Manual/automation and performance testing


Demonstrated information technology expertise including software development exposure but hands-on software development a plus;


5+ years in a leadership role – guiding others in test strategies for test analysis/planning, detailed test development and test execution and reporting



QA Experience in full life-cycle of enterprise applications (500+ users) with a focus on Clinical and Financial based Systems (Ambulatory EMR, Patient Safety, Radiology, Laboratory, Scheduling, and Outpatient) preferred


QA experience with Enterprise Reporting, Data Warehousing, and Interface management preferred.


Intricate familiarity with industry tools: JIRA, HP ALM, Polarion, Loadrunner, etc.


Occasional travel may be required but generally less than 15%.


Typical work week hours can vary depending on workload, outages or project deliverables.
