Job Description:

This 24-month position for an Oracle Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Developer resource is needed for the OCFS Data Warehouse/CONNECTIONS Reporting Module. The DW is sourced from the agency’s major child welfare case management related systems: CONNECTIONS, CCRS, BICS and WMS.

The OCFS Data Warehouse supports various mandated Child Welfare federal reporting including: Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFACRS); Child Care; National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS); National Youth in Transition Data (NYTD); National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA) and Casework Contacts. A significant component of the data warehouse environment is the CONNECTIONS Operational Data Store (ODS) which enables the sharing of CONNECTIONS data with local districts and voluntary agencies.
The OCFS Data Warehouse is a long term, ongoing effort to meet the data sharing and reporting needs of OCFS, the state and federal government, local districts and voluntary agencies. The first deliverables were deployed in 2000, and the warehouse continues to grow in terms of data volume, functionality, and customers on a continual basis, with heightening reliance on the availability of up to date child welfare data for operational and analytical needs. The DW effort consists of many sub-projects, each with its own schedule and deliverables. There are approximately 10 sub-projects in progress at any given time, with another 50 or so in the queue.
1. Work in coordination with a team of developers to expand the current Data Warehouse.
2. Work with Business Analyst & customers on analysis and logical design for mappings and ETL.
3. Perform unit testing and correct all identified bugs.
4. Perform complex PL/SQL coding in a Data Warehouse environment.
5. Assist with responding to Juvenile Justice data requests.
6. The individual in this position will work under the direction of a Technical Lead & Project Manager.
7. Perform writing of complex stored procedures/triggers in an Oracle database utilizing PL/SQL

Skill Matrix:
1. 84 months experience in a data warehouse setting as an ODI developer including developing maps, procedures, load plans, packages and testing those solutions #of months 10
2. 60 months experience in developing ETL in Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) including migrating OWB projects to ODI 12c. #of months 10
3. 60 months Data modeling (Dimensional & Relational), process improvement, normalization/de-normalization, data extraction, data cleansing, data manipulation. #of months 10
4. 60 months experience in an Oracle Data Warehouse as a developer performing development work using PL/SQL #of months 10
5. 60 months experience in UNIX or LINUX environment, Unix Shell Scripting. #of months 10
6. 84 months experience using advanced Extract/Transform/Load techniques including bulk select, bulk insert, arrays, dynamic SQL and developing detailed incremental ETL processes. #of months 10
7. 60 months problem solving technical issues. #of months 10
8. Bachelor’s Degree. #of months 10
