Job Title: Oracle Application DBA
Contract: Length: 1 + year
Location: Smyrna GA
Hourly Rate: Open (DOE)
Responsible for all database administration tasks as assigned to ensure availability, performance, integrity, and security
of databases for large-scale data warehouses.
Essential Responsibilities
· Database support, research, process automation, documentation, database upgrades, backup/recovery, DR
testing
· Perform all Database Administration duties as assigned
· Participate in 24x7 on-call support and planned downtime maintenance activities
· Work closely with client DBA and data warehouse team (project lead, data modelers, technical team, ETL
developers) to deliver project milestones
· Ensure compliance with all technical specifications
· Ensure department documentation is up-to-date and accurate
· Provide front-line database support for customer-facing applications and databases
· Ensure availability and performance of the various database environments
· Participate in DR exercise planning and execution
· Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle support and third parties as necessary
· Communicate with customer through formal correspondence
· Participate in DBA peer review sessions with other team members
· Diagnose and solve complex problems, including non-functional problems such as performance issues by
identifying workarounds, and driving resolution / “owning” the problem
REQUIRED Skills and Experience
· 4+ years working as Oracle Apps DBA
· 2+ years working with Oracle on Unix/Linux
· Competent in Unix/Linux shell scripting
· Experience managing Oracle RAC databases and clusters
· Competence in query tuning and performance problem solving skills
· Competence in RMAN backup and recovery skills
· Competence with SQL DDL, DML, and PLSQL coding skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Self-starter with ability to work in team environment
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks simultaneously and complete work within allocated
timeframes
Education / Certifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
