Job Description :
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

Provides support to State agencies, institutions and vendors in the design of voice, video and data services.
Consults with state agencies to make recommendations for the design of voice, video and data networks.
Provides quotes for equipment, detailed supporting network diagrams and ensures accurate billing of services.
Determines the need for bandwidth, service changes and upgrades.
Utilizes DTO and vendor provided tools.
Coordinates implementation of network projects through equipment and service orders, field inspections and agency reports.
Works with other OTIS units to coordinate activities.
Assists with the maintenance of hardware and software inventory of network devices.
Performs annual maintenance procurement for Network Integration.
Verifies accurate billing of services.


Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):

At least two (2) years of relevant experience working in a large, complex network environment.

Knowledge of LAN, WAN and MAN design

Knowledge of data transport such as MPLS and Metro Ethernet

Knowledge of TCP/IP

Knowledge of VLANs, 802.1q trunking

Knowledge of VoIP design and support

Knowledge of wireless networking

Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds

Knowledge of security standards such as those published by NIST

Knowledge of compliance requirements such as PCI and HIPPA

Skilled in working on large, complex networks with more than 150 routers/switches/encryption devices

Skilled in managing multiple projects at the same time.

Skilled is using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Visio.

Ability to communicate effectively utilizing both verbal and written methods

Required Education/Certifications:
Associates degree in networking. years of experience can be substituted for an associates degree
