Job Description
Scope of Work:
Senior level/expert technical resource needed to install, configure, modify, maintain, support and enhance DPS servers for production, test/development and disaster recovery servers:
a. Dell PowerEdge, PowerVault, ML6010;
b. APC UPS;
c. PDUs;
d. Win2003/8/+, Linux, AIX;
e. Hyper-V;
f. Cluster/hot failover/remote backup;
g. SAN/DAS/iSCSI Array/SSD;
h. Network switches;
i. LTO tape library; and,
j. AD/OU.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Assemble hardware;
b. Build, install, configure, support, and troubleshoot Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server systems in a mixed workgroup and Active Directory environment;
c. Monitor Windows servers’ performance;
d. Maintain DPS’ network infrastructure;
e. Perform routine maintenance (e.g., Windows OS patches, server hardware replacement, and daily system backup);
f. Create, add, or remove storage to/from Storage Array Network, Network Attached Storage or Direct Attached Storage;
g. Document problems and solutions in detail;
h. Manage the server, roles, functionality;
i. Enable remote administration, group policies, Windows Remote Management, Windows Firewall, Server Manager groups, etc.;
j. Manage local and remote servers;
k. Develop scripts via PowerShell;
l. Build security policies and documenting server security;
m. Audit the server, diagnosing security issues, creating audit trails;
n. Assess workloads and balancing applications and server roles;
o. Reconfigure the operating system;
p. Monitor server performance;
q. Detect and resolve performance concerns;
r. Recover from boot process failures;
s. Manage system recovery;
t. Repair key Windows components (registry, service accounts, privileges, drivers, solving network issues);
u. Prepare and implementing Hyper-V Environment;
v. Build, optimize, relocate/migrate Virtual Machines including live migrations; and,
w. Ensure application availability (e.g., eliminating single points of failure; failover clusters
