General Summary:
The client network team designs, implements and supports networks that provide services to our employees and customers. The team supports the data networks that our healthcare facilities and branch offices rely upon for clinical and business applications. The team is based in the client data center in Louisville, KY and team members have the flexibility to work 20% or more from their home offices.
Projects:
In the coming year, the team will be involved in the following projects.
· Implement Nexus 5K and 9K data center switches, and migrate from existing 5K switches.
· Implement F5 ADCs, and upgrade Citrix Netscalers
· Consolidation of multiple wide area networks to a single service provider at 700 locations
· Continue migration to Viptela SDWan
· Implement and support hybrid cloud connectivity solutions including Microsoft Azure
Tasks:
The following are common tasks performed by Kindred Network engineers.
· Configure and manage routers, switches & firewalls.
· Support MPLS and broadband circuits for remote facilities.
· Measure and diagnose network performance using tools such as Cisco Stealthwatch, Orion Network Performance Monitor and Network Configuration manager.
· Analyze network traces to identify root cause of performance issues, and implement corrective actions.
· Participate with teams in network planning and design, and document network architecture, standards, and procedures.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Requires at least four years recent experience in a position where primary responsibilities included Cisco network support in an enterprise environment.
· Ability to work multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced environment.
· Comprehensive understanding of Cisco IOS and NXOS is required.
· Experience supporting MPLS, broadband, and VPNs.
· Some experience using Python or other scripting tools is helpful, but not required.
