Salary: $110,000–$125,000 / yr + benefits

Job description

Mainframe Communication Server System Engineer - Responsible for mainframe Communication Services software. Includes engineering, design and build of resilient, high-performing and secure connectivity and communication to and from the enterprise mainframe servers.

Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assist in problem solving, tuning and network resiliency designs, including mainframe tracing and sniffer analysis.
Serves as a fully seasoned/ proficient technical resource; provides technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence or lead major projects/initiatives. "

Required:

10-15 years in design, development, coordination and implementation of mainframe network engineering activities within z/OS, z/VM and Linux on z Series environments.
Participate in technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities.
Skilled in Assembler, REXX, and SAS programming.
Strong knowledge of encryption technologies and Certificate management.
Knowledge in Netview configurations and Clist coding.
Can develop technical solution requirements and lead individual or small team initiatives.
. Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience.
. Must possess strong networking, problem solving and protocol skills, have a complete understanding of Mainframe communication concepts and be able to support mainframe connectivity design considerations.
. Must have extensive knowledge of IBM zEnterprise server hardware and in-depth working knowledge of TCP, UDP, ICMP communications.
