Job Description
Expertise in Performance Testing tools
Execute benchmark, load, stress, endurance and other non-functional tests. Monitor application logs to determine system behavior. Address all technical issues; facilitate the resolution and necessary follow up with development and other cross-functional departments.
Analyze the CPU Utilization, Memory usage, Network usage, Garbage Collection and DB Parameters and DB Reports to verify the performance of the applications.
Generate performance graphs, session reports and other related documentation required for validation and analysis.
Publish results and receive appropriate signoff. Prepare detail status reports and monitoring of all defects and issues.
Identifying memory leakage, connection issues & bottleneck problem in the application.
Strong problem-solving skills and very good time management skills.
Perform load tests to validate system performance and stability.
Analyze tests results and work with developers and engineers to perform bug fixes.
Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability and scalability.
Perform root cause analysis of performance issues and suggest corrective actions.
Oversee system performance lifecycle and identify key metrics for performance improvements.
Evaluate system performances and recommend improvements.
Generate periodic performance reports for management review.
Analyze on performance and capacity, tune large scale JAVA HTML applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve Tomcat and JAVA application server issues.
Create scripting in Bash, Perl, PHP and JAVA load test tools.
Develop and execute preemptive monitoring and maintain processes and tools.
Develop data and statistical reports for system performance and capacity.
Develop GUIs for engineering and company to oversee wide range of statistics.
Use performance analysis like time-based profiling, volume and stress testing.
Gain awareness of complex product features and execution affecting product performance.
Coordinate with customer support teams to diagnose performance issues.
Implement tests and analyze data to identify system bottlenecks.
Determine high-level performance test scope, timeframes and environment needs.
Conduct performance test, analysis and create test reports summary to enable decisions before releases.
Collaborate with Business/Application/Development teams to improve system performance of the application.
Understand systems environments like shared resources, components, and services, CPU, memory, storage, network, and soft resources.
Understand the differences between production and test environments like containers, cloud, virtualization, and configuration management.
Understand the roles of scalability, capacity, and reliability as quality attributes and requirements.
Understand how to test data and data management.
Identify transactions and workflows and calculate workload TPS goals and rates.
Ability to calculate think time and pacing.
Understand how to analyze log files, run queries, and monitor production.
Understand the effect of proper validations.
Use consistent measurements and metrics.
Identify bottlenecks, and where they are occurring.
Promotes continuous improvement and makes recommendations for framework enhancements
Assists in the development of software quality engineering (SQE) test strategy for moderately to highly complex IT initiatives across multiple SQE domains by analyzing business and technology requirements to ensure stability and traceability
Identifies, defines and mitigates issues, dependencies and risks related to testing
Develops and executes front and or back-end test case scenarios in accordance with the GQS framework and company testing methodology
Identifies and escalates quality risks, issues, conflicts and/or resistance across teams throughout the SDLC
Assists in the development of software quality engineering (SQE) project plans by participating in the identification of project scope and level-of-effort (LOE) estimates
Adheres to established SQE processes and controls
Requirements
BCA, BE/ B Tech (CS), M Tech (CS), MCA or equivalent degree.
5+ years’ experience in SQE
2+ years’ experience in a leadership role
Minimum of 3 years of software development experience is an additional advantage.
Proficient in performance test methodologies, strategy, planning and non-functional requirements and workload modelling.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent knowledge of Java, MySQL, MSSQL and HTML.
Experience of tuning applications across platforms like mainframe, thin client, mobile and web-based applications.
Heavy experience with diagnostics tools (ThousandEyes, SolarWinds, AppDynamics) to identify root cause.
Experience in both Windows and UNIX/LINUX environments.
Hands-on experience with performance testing/tuning JVM based applications.
Assume primary responsibility as Performance Testing SPOC
Ability to evaluate the current environment, gather needs, and propose a recommended solution
