Job Requirements
Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or
large-scale proprietary software for internal use
Use Java programming language and related software development technologies such as Java 2 Enterprise Edition
(J2EE), JavaServer Pages (JSP)/Servlets, or JavaServer Faces (JSF)
Serve as technical expert on development projects
Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design
Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
Support, maintain, and document software functionality
Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed
Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
Consult with end-user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs
Responsibilities/Project Specifics:
Individual will assist with ODS team migrate C++ and Java application from HP Unix environment to new Linux platform
Migration will involve rewriting / modify existing code to run in new environment
In addition some TUXEDO services need to be converted to Java webservices
Individual will be focused on this one primary project and will be considered a lead
Responsible for communicating with offshore teams
Teams work styles include Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
100% a development role
No travel required
Required Skills:
5+ years of experience with Java, C++/ C on Linux/ Unix required
Bachelor''s degree required
Develop applications using the Java & C++ programming language
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills (as they will be a lead, stronger leadership skills are required)
Develop applications using C++ on Unix /Linux
Advanced experience in building libraries and server side components
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
Experience with Oracle Database , SQL , ODBC driver implementation
Experience with TUXEDO (preferred but not mandatory)
