Job Description:
This position is for an Enterprise Architect. The person will be responsible for working on efforts linked to the Verizon 2.0 big 5 initiatives. He or she will specifically be engaged in the E2E design of initiatives impacting cross functional stacks in Verizon’s Consumer and Business Group. The EA will be responsible for designing implementing transformational projects across Verizon Business group areas.
Responsible for technology selection, assessment, technical evaluation of architecture alternatives and recommending solutions that are simple, scalable and sustainable and above all secure. The candidate will ensure solution aligns with other Verizon units creating a transparent user experience
Responsible to work as a solution architect on multiple projects (with small to medium size complexity), create secure/agile architecture solutions for the given business requirement.
Create and develop High Level Designs leveraging various methodologies, review designs with stakeholders to get buy in and deliver it to development teams to create detail design artifacts.
Able to design and develop a reference implementation for an enterprise scale architecture that can assist development teams across multiple organizations
Work with vendors to evaluate new products. Candidate will research and recommend the optimal solutions (Ex. Chat Bots, RPA, PEGA, Cloud, Salesforce etc for vast variety of projects.
Program Management:
Driving solution delivery through requirements gathering/analysis/discovery, business plan creation, and solution level of effort estimation to ensure that client interests are met and potential business opportunities are established.
Familiarity with VCM, VES, VPS and other strategic provisioning systems is a plus.
Candidate will be responsible for independently driving large scale projects that span across all IT groups and across CIO portfolios. The position requires leading design and architecture efforts across multiple functional teams (Product Catalog, CRM, ordering, order management, finance, network, marketing, support, testing), the candidate should be able to analyze the current trends in the technology architecture and providing recommendations ensuring enterprise and business statndards. Should be visionary and make long term architectural recommendations supporting long term goals.
The candidate will need to regularly interface with senior management and executive level clients, must have pursuasive abilities to . Having is a knowledge of TOGAF framework is a plus.
Required Skills:
7+ years IT experience with involvement in all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
4+ years of experience in Verizon Business / Operational support systems/ Internet Data/Video/PON/ Network technologies.
Possess a strong technical mind frame with the ability to interact with people at all levels on system design, architecture.
In depth knowledge of FTTP Architecture, BAU architecture, broadband, Voice and Video technologies, Verizon Ordering, Network and Billing systems.
Previous experience with Use case definition, conducting high level and detail design sessions across all IT organizations, building consensus with IT as well as business partners for strategic systems design.
Ability to Design and develop E2E solutions that are scalable and strategic
Drive cross functional large scale enterprise projects
Strong creativity and problem solving skills.
Ability to work with independently.
Ability to develop quick solutions to resolve design issues.
Ability to develop detailed flow documentation for the consumption both by IT development team and senior executives.
Ability to understand issues and challenges with various technologies.
Individual should have knowledge of latest communication concepts and technology trends.
Lead project related presentations and walkthroughs.
