Job Description:
The ETL Analyst/Data Modeler will assist in the design, development, and maintenance of data marts as part of an enterprise-wide data warehouse, including requirements gathering and data modeling. Design, implement and maintain robust and efficient ETL processes and supporting infrastructure with IBM DataStage and Oracle. Create and maintain documentation and share knowledge with other team members. Assist and support end users in the use of the data warehouse to meet their reporting needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develops, implements and maintains data models to support the current Data Warehouse environment
Design, develops, implements and maintains efficient ETL processes to support current Data Warehouse environment
Evaluates the Data Warehouse and makes recommendations, if needed.
Creates and maintains documentation and shares knowledge with other team members
Assists and supports end users in the use of the data warehouse to meet their reporting needs
Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
5+ years of data modeling experience, preferably Oracle
3+ years of IBM Datastage, or similar, experience
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, architectures, principles, and methodologies
Above average SQL skills and high analytical skills
Experience in analyzing, profiling, modeling, validating and documenting data, definitions, values, and relationships
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and a self-starter
Ability to train and/or mentor peers with respect to technical topics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide and implement practical solutions
Bachelor''s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
DESIRED SKILLS
Bachelor''s degree in a computer, technical or other analytical fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, etc., or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL
Has a basic understanding of business intelligence (BI) reporting concepts and tools such as Cognos, Power BI, and Tableau
Experience writing technical documentation
Experience with extracting data from various data sources and preparing it for loading into database tables for additional processing (including XML)
