The main thing skill need:
1 EHR/EMR interface experience, Preferably CloverLeaf
2 If no Clover Leaf, EPIC Bridges OR Meditech Interface OR any other
EMR interface experience.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop and maintain interface code and configuration, application
build and configuration, as well as database structure; assuring
database integrity for all systems while maintaining standards of
system interface build, HL7 standard messaging conventions, and
database maintenance. Subject matter expert for appointed interfaces
and mentor to Engineer I & II on system and interface configuration,
development, and support.
Proactively work to identify and isolate system, interface, and
performance issues utilizing relevant technical criteria, data,
critical thinking, and a methodic rule-out process. Research and
implement practical and appropriate solutions, documenting outcomes
for future use.
Design, code and test message formats, system functions, extracts,
imports, reports, conversions, interfaces, programs, etc., to meet
user needs using standard tools such as COBOL, TCL/TK, C++, Visual
Basic, Korn Shell, PERL, or other applicable programming languages.
Maintain, enhance and modify installed interfaces and data extracts,
appropriately prioritizing modifications to meet user requirements in
accordance with MHS objectives and budgetary limits; developing and
communicating new or improved processes relative to those changes
required by interface modifications.
Proactive assessment and analysis of system unavailability, upgrades
and code modifications to mitigate unknown impacts to interfaces and
downstream systems.
Consultative participation with groups setting business strategy and
prioritizing the use of IT resources and budget to support the
organizational goals.
Interaction with all levels of management and users in strategic
planning, analyzing operations, assessing information needs and
additional systems functionality, requirements definition, etc., and
in setting and communicating priorities to users, management and team
members.
Coordinate and lead team with appropriate project management
techniques to plan, monitor, manage and report on the implementation
process and status of multiple medium to complex projects and work
activities from evaluation through implementation, and ongoing
maintenance and support. Assist with updates and review of work plans,
including task assignments and resource coordination for projects as
applicable.
Proactively provide coordination in validating that interfaced
patient data is accurately filed into the various receiving systems,
thereby ensuring accurate billing and complete updates to the
electronic medical record while maintaining patient confidentiality
and system integrity.
Design, review, document and communicate test plans and outcomes, for
system and interface modifications and new software version releases
as applicable, obtaining user consensus that the plan is comprehensive
and tests for the majority of situations likely to be encountered in a
production environment. Coordinate and participate in regression
testing and analysis to mitigate any negative impact of system changes
on existing processes.
Participate in user group meeting activities representing MHS
interests in issues prioritization, seeks out and recommends training
classes, seminars and conferences for personal and professional
development which will have positive impact on job performance and
organizational effectiveness.
Lead inter-departmental discussions to address and resolve system
interface and procedural issues, providing input relative to the
position and offering system solutions in the decision-making process.

continuously learning, and by performing other duties as needed or
assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of multiple applications, e.g., interface engine,
hospital information systems, clinical systems, computerized medical
records, administrative systems, physician practice management,
enterprise master patient index, data warehousing and repositories.
Comprehensive knowledge of the MultiCare EHR application (currently
Epic), the integrated relationship between the modules, and the
underlying data structures as it relates to extracting data from and
filing data to the system through one-time and ongoing data exchanges.
Knowledgeable, technically current and capable in structured
programming techniques in a multi-vendor networked environment,
programming tools and code management systems, as well as a working
knowledge of multiple operating systems and hardware platforms.
Extensive knowledge of operational department functions, management
and processes.
Certified or demonstrated competency in multiple applications,
interfaced systems, and interface engines.
Knowledge of software/hardware integration for various applications
and equipment.
Extensive knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7), X12, ANSI, HTML, ASCII
Delimited and other healthcare data delivery standards.
Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated skills and experience in
project management techniques and ability to conceptualize, implement
and support interfaces, programs and services.
High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Visio and
Project applications.
Knowledge of Health Care regulatory environment and fluent in
computer and healthcare related concepts and vernacular.
Extensive knowledge of multiple operating systems, hardware
platforms, and web based tools.
Expertise in interface analysis, design, and troubleshooting
including definition and translation of user requests into effective,
functional specifications and requirements documentation.
Ability to help develop the skills of other staff through mentoring,
teaching, explanation and example as well as developing education
curriculum and conducting classroom education.
Possess good organizational skills in time management, workload
prioritization, in addition to good communication and interpersonal
skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently under limited
supervision; take initiative, and manage multiple tasks and
priorities.
Skill in giving direction to and evaluating work performance of others.
Ability to organize, motivate, and lead groups of diverse individuals
using a teamwork approach to meet the goals and objectives of the
organization, department or various projects in a timely fashion.
Ability to read, understand, and develop technical documentation to
support code developed by the interface team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, healthcare, or
Information Technology.
Clinical/Financial license/Technical certification (RN, MT, RRT, CPA,
MCSE, OCP, etc preferred.
Five - seven (5 - 7) years experience in information management,
developing, implementing, operating, maintaining or using (as a “super
user”) systems in integrated health care delivery network including
hospitals and/or clinic settings.
Previous installation experience with healthcare systems, databases
and interfaces in hospitals and/or clinic settings desirable.
Previous vendor experience with integrated business and clinical
systems such as Epic or Lawson or interface engines such as Cloverleaf
is highly desirable.
Specific recent relevant Information Technology or healthcare
experience may be substituted for education.
Valid Washington State drivers license
