Job Summary:
The SCM Engineer will administrate, develop, update and execute Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Continuous Integration (CI) tools, configurations, infrastructure and processes
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
Extensive knowledge of source code management principles
Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure technologies like GCP or AWS
Previous experience using containerization/Kubernetes orchestration to host microservices within an application
Configure, install, execute and maintain SCM tools and infrastructure, including but not limited to source code and revision management, build systems, SDLC automation and virtual servers
Source version control tools and Build Tools e.g. Ant, Maven, Subversion, GitLab
Design and execute configuration and change management procedures
Scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, and Bash
Knowledge of Cloud-specific security principles
Programming and Scripting, Java, XML, shell scripts.
Virtualization systems, Windows and UNIX, VMWare, automated environment provisioning.
Source version control tools, SCM tools, Build Tools e.g. Rational RTC, Urban Code, Ant, Maven, Subversion, Git.
Participate in regular client/team status meetings and provide input on development or administration activities.
Work with the development team to coordinate applicable system changes.
Consult with stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions
Enthusiasm for learning new tools, automation, and working through complex problems with a DevOps mindset
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
5 years’ experience with Software Configuration Management and CI/CD pipeline management using technologies like GitLab, Maven, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet, Chef
Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure technologies like GCP or AWS
Knowledge and experience with development and orchestration of containers
2+ years configuration management in an Agile Development environment, preferably Scrum.
Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to produce high quality technical documents.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Ability to document system processes and procedures in a clear manner.
Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
