Title: Data Engineer [XTGL_]
Location: Houston, TX
Type: 12 + Months Contract
Responsibilities
Write SQL queries in native HANA to support developmental efforts
Create stored procedures to support business logic
Create, modify and improve HANA calculation views
Query and assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, and master data
Design and implement automating manual processes, generating reports, data delivery etc.
Create scripts for analyzing, monitoring and troubleshooting data issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of hands on SQL coding experience.
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets
Ability to multi-task
Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
Comfortable working in Agile, fast paced teams.
Strong command of the English language, both oral and written.
Preferred:
Experience in SAP HANA - Native SQL, Data Modelling, Calculation Views
Native HANA performance tuning techniques
Good understanding of Data warehousing concepts
Experience in Oil and Gas Industry.
Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: JavaScript, Java, NodeJS.
Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
