Position: Data Center Operations Administrator
Location: San Mateo, California
Need locals only
Duration: 6months to hire
Our client, a well-funded technology start-up, has an immediate need for a Data Center Operations Administrator to join their team in Foster City. This person will work with other infrastructure Engineers to help maintain their internal infrastructure as they grow at a rapid rate.
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair CPU and GPU based compute clusters and storage
Independently troubleshoot and repair complex hardware issues
Assist with deploying internal compute clusters
Manage Vendor RMAs
Complete regular installations and maintenance for vendors
Participate in procurement and logistic activities
Working experience with structured cabling and data center hardware (racks, PDUs, servers, cabling, etc)
Participate on a 24/7 rotation for dispatch to data centers
Willingness to travel locally between data centers in Sunnyvale and Menlo Park
Requirements
5+ years of experience working in Data Center Operations
Highly experienced with installing and maintaining enterprise hardware
Experience with troubleshooting and repairing Intel-based server hardware
Understanding of RAID, IPv4, and IPMI/OOB
Basic Linux system administration skills
Ability to follow and contribute to a production checklist
Understanding and respect for the importance of “production” environments.
Experience working with ticket management systems and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic MS-Windows server knowledge desired
Ability to work independently with minimal direction from management
Nice to Have
Some experience with GPU computing platforms
Some experience with SuperMicro servers
