Role Statement
Client is looking for a Principal Data Analyst with 10+ years of proven experience focused on Trading, Pricing, and Holdings data. The Technology Group is responsible for delivering top quality scalable systems solutions for the Asset Management business functions within Investments.

The Expertise we’re looking for
Bachelor''s Degree in Finance, Computer Science or related subject
8+ years of experience in information technology as a business/data analyst
Experience in financial services experience including Asset Management is a big plus, preferably in Fund Accounting, Custody, Pricing or Trade operations
4+ years of experience in database analysis using Oracle PL/SQL
Experience with industry reference data schemes (eg, ISO, CUSIP)
Experience with database systems is a plus
Experience with MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, etc
Experience of a project lifecycle methodology (preferably agile)
The Purpose of your role
This position requires a candidate that possesses written communications and verbal communications skills, ability to work autonomously with limited direction, and the ability to manage small projects coordinating individuals in different roles across service line while acting as an individual performer. The role requires a heavy interaction with technologists such as data architects as well as with business data stewards.
The data analyst must have a solid knowledge the financial industry. The position includes contributions to the roadmap for reference and market data as a service to FPCMS across multiple applications.

Lead or perform analysis and documentation of current business processes.
Work with source systems to understand and document new data sets
Evaluate impact of upstream system changes, new fund structures or security types
Work with architects and business leaders to acquire a solid understanding of the domain, current state of technology and the strategic direction guiding future efforts.
Participate in the definition of both functional and non-functional requirements of a system and define the delivery strategy, standards and support tools.
Determine internal requirements for data controls and exception reporting
Perform complex data analysis and present findings to support recommendations
Propose design options; evaluate for feasibility and cost/benefit
Identify, escalate and resolve issues and mitigate risks
Ensure appropriate level of business and functional project documentation is created.
Review and contribute to technical specifications to ensure that it meets business requirements
Plan and coordinate activities with project stakeholders, including test planning and execution
Manages business and data analysis, project interdependencies and handoffs
Manage communication with sources and customers; create appropriate forums, manage agendas and facilitate meetings
Partner with Data Governance team to build out operational processes
Develop training materials and implementation plans
Transition new sources or customers into production environment
Create management presentations
Guide and mentor team members, data stewards, and colleagues on the use and importance of reference data and data governance
