Ataccama Consultant
Location – Seattle, WA
Duration – 6 months +

Need to have:
Data quality
Understand concepts and how to stand up multiple environments, development, test, etc. Knowing how to move code through that Lifecyle – just understanding that would be a necessity
Usually people have data warehouse, data intelligence experience not looking for someone who has pure data quality/data management
Communication skills with business needs and technological needs.
Places to look – local mobile companies utilize these tools

Required
Data Quality Experience
COTS tools – Ataccama is what this team uses (Informatica, Talend, IBM, Information builders Inc, etc
Software development background – understand SDL

Implementation commercial off the Ataccama Cots tools that will work, data analyst background – know data, SQL but migrated to understanding the quality of the data not just moving data. Understanding what is wrong, sense of it not being correctly represented. Data cleansing data merging.
Someone sitting inside the tool being able to configure.
Ideal – someone who is coming from a recent Ataccama deployment or similar tools – information builders,

Working very closely with data governance space – in the beginning stages of this application.

Will be interacting with business, engineering and data governance teams. Sit down with them to figure out data and then translate that.

Typical Day in the Role
Proven track record (7+years) of successfully executing data quality activities including data validation, root cause remediation, improvement, governance, and measurement
Strong skills in SQL, logical/conceptual data modeling and analysis
Proven experience implementing best practices in data management including: data cleansing, meta-data management, master data management and data quality using enterprise level COTS DQ Tools
Intimate familiarity with Data Quality Management solutions including SQL, BI Dashboards, ETL, and EDW, and ability to leverage this knowledge to meet business and technical requirements
Experience implementing and configuring industry-leading Data Management Platforms (e.g. Ataccama, IBI, Informatica) and ability to become expert on new tools and technologies as they come along
Deliver training and perform knowledge transfer to data stewards and other stakeholders as required
Participate in analyzing and troubleshooting complex system/user issues to drive resolution and determine root cause
Interface across all organization levels comfortably with internal business and technical stakeholders
Regularly lead cross functional teams with data improvement initiatives and issue resolution
Serve as a subject matter expert on cross functional teams and projects representing data quality methodologies and processes

Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Data quality management tool implementation (5 years)
Data privacy in US and international markets (2 years)
Data quality experience with an enterprise master data system, system of record, or data warehouse preferably in a complex and diverse systems environment (5 years)
Experience with data management tools such as Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality (5 years)
Working knowledge of structured and unstructured database structures, and SQL and NoSQL databases (5 years)
Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence principles (5 years)
Knowledge of effective testing and data validation practices and methodologies (5 years)
Relevant functional/business process experience (5 years)
Data analysis (5 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with technology projects and software development methodologies including Agile in a fast-paced enterprise technology organization
Excellent written and verbal communication
Proven ability to develop and deliver presentations geared for all levels of the organization, including Executive Management
Strong interpersonal communication skills and proven experience influencing in highly matrixed organizations
Data Privacy certifications are a plus, but not required
Bachelor’s degree in information systems (or related study) or commensurate experience
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
Experience in a high-volume transaction environment
Working knowledge of global privacy law
Ability to quickly master new systems and/or processes
Capacity to stay organized while managing competing priorities
Demonstrated experience and focus on leadership and continuous improvement of systems, software and processes
Able to independently operate and lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
