The Data Services Specialist position provides specialized technical expertise associated with ETL suite of tools within a data warehousing/business intelligence/analytics environment.

The Data Services Specialist will perform a variety of job functions, including, but not limited to: business requirements analysis, data analysis, development architecture and naming standards, development, testing (unit, system and user testing support), integration, tool performance testing, scalability, design documentation, migration planning, upgrade and implementation planning.



Requirements




Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related experience
Two (2) years or more experience in ETL Development
Two (2) years or more experience in Production Support
Knowledge of and familiarity with data warehousing relevant technology, tools, and middleware
IT experience with a variety of technologies supporting the full software development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, installation, support and modification preferred
Able to

Ability to multi-task between 2-3 projects simultaneously
Operate as part of cross-functional project team


Strong problem-solving and application control validation skills
Demonstrated expertise with ETL tools (intermediate level)




Responsibilities




Maintain accuracy of design documentation
Participate in coding/testing components of the project and in system migration planning
Build ETL solutions
Participate with other IT members, customers, and other stakeholders with every project
Create basic estimates and translate requirements into an appropriate design
Identify conflicting business practices and integration issues, and suggest alternative solutions
Work closely with Microstrategy and other project team members to identify and understand source systems to meet business requirements
Foster and maintain good relationships with customer and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels
Share responsibility with other team members to ensure on-time product delivery or satisfactory application development and/or support
Perform other duties as assigned
