Splunk IT Infrastructure Engineer

Position Description
The client has an immediate need for a Splunk IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our financial services team in Reston, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Produce Splunk dashboards displaying metrics for complete infrastructure stack platforms performance, capacity, user management
Develop and maintain support documentation for technical add-ons
Support group with trouble shooting any issues. Help the team with analyzing, identifying, and tuning Splunk user dashboards for performance
Act as a Subject matter expert for splunk
Define, maintain, and enforce best practices for the Splunk practice.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience
5+ years’ hands-on experience in IT infrastructure (RDBMS, Cloud RDS, storage, network compute) with proficiency
Knowledge of IT production operations is desired
3+ years’ experience with Splunk on a large enterprise level with distributed Splunk Architecture
Splunk DB Connect
Proficient in Splunk Knowledge Objects and has developed Multiple complex Splunk Dashboards, Reports and Alerts
Proficient in Splunk Advanced Dashboarding skills
Familiar with Splunk Monitoring and deployment tools and Splunk Standards
Proficient in Parsing, Indexing, Searching Concepts like Hot, Warm, Cold, Frozen bucketing
Proficient with Splunk DBX, Service Now, and ITSI, DBConnect
Splunk certifications at least power user would be a big plus
Experience in design, development, integration, testing, and implementation of a large scale analytical data sets in SPLUNK
Practical working skillset with industry best practices
