Job Title: Java Microservices Developer
Contract: Length: 6 months contract
Location: Minnesota
Hourly Rate: Open (DOE)

What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment? One of the Payment Systems Scrum team: Bottomline Replacement, Modernization, Dream EOB or ASO Opt-out

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? (Please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis)
Design solution for the current project through Java Microservices/Kafka streams
-Mentor and guide developers on the team.
-Hands on work with deliverables of java services, OSFI work, Kafka streaming to implement solution.
-Help create strategic direction for how to transform other components of the app using modern technologies (Kafka, services, NoSQL)
-Help create transformation plan to get to end state for technology modernization.
What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities?
Java, Microservices, Kafka, Cloud/Openshift, CI/CD (Jenkins), Docker
What skills/attributes are a must have?
* Strong experience with java micro-services
* Experience hosting micro services on cloud environment
o specifically, experience in OpenShift
o experience with Docker container management.
* Strong CI/CD experience, including building and deploying and maintaining cloud micro services
o Jenkins
o Docker
o XL Deploy
o General CI/CD pipeline experience
* Knowledge of the existing data externalization team, infrastructure and processes is definitely a plus. We are definitely planning on utilizing their Kaas (Kafka as a service) offering, and are currently in the process of completing a POC to integrate with their test Kaas environment.
-Some Kafka experience
What skills/attributes are nice to have?
Strong Kafka experience - someone who can help drive and set architectural direction, designing a new system using kafka from the ground up and mentoring current team members
Where is the work to be performed? (Please list preferred UHG facility, if other please specify i.e. remote work, rural, etc MN051
What are the work hours? (ex. 9am-5pm, day/night shifts, rotating shifts, etc)
8am - 5pm (need flexibility to work with offshore members etc)
