Cyber Security Engineer

The team is shifting from Assessment to Remediation. So this person will be engaging with the Telecom teams to Assess and immediately start remediation efforts for an area. So go in, get an understanding of the environment, the current state of security controls and then work with them to improve them per our defined hardening playbook. Looking for someone with past remediation and skills working with various teams to make recommendations.
This resource works in large corporate-wide, heterogeneous, distributed computing network. They develop corporate level security policies, procedures and security architectures: providing security consulting services, administering network firewalls, mainframe security, web (intranet and internet) security and remote access (dial-in) security and for promoting information security awareness. They analyze security state of existing applications, hosts and networks and for formulating recommendations for policies, procedures, and technologies to assure security. They are knowledgeable about EDI, evolving internet and extranet practices, e-commerce, as they will act as internal security consultant to other IT areas.
Our team focuses on securing the telecommunications platforms. In most cases we are buying solutions from suppliers that have developed and manufactured cell sites and these systems are typically built off of commercially available hardware and operating systems. We need someone who has worked in an environment like this where they had to ensure that the platforms and applications were properly secured, from the base hardware/networking level, through the Operating System/3rd party components, up to the application and its interfaces and application security.
Requirements:
7+ years of overall security experience working with IP networking, network security or operational security.
2+ years-experience specifically managing data networks and security applications and platforms
Must be proficient in security hardening using CIS Controls, NIST Controls, or comparable methods
Nice to Haves:
Threat modeling; not just scanning, but writing playbooks and documentation
Access management experience
