Job Description :
The lab project is for our office in Monroeville. However, training will occur out of the Southpointe office (2-3 days) a week. Going between the two offices for a few months will be necessary. The app for the Lab is a workflow tool written in Java, xslt, css, xforms (transitioning to Angular), PostgreSQL. A frontend app and data developer using PostgreSQL would be a good fit for this position.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
Experience: 5+ years implementing enterprise-scale, distributed, data centric applications with graphical user interfaces. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Expert level experience with software development processes and experience taking enterprise scale projects from inception to deployment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
Strong Object Orient Design and Programming
Strong SQL and related database knowledge including NOSQL
Familiarity with UI technologies and MVC Framework
Strong unit and integration testing
Experience using one or more of the technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Cloudera, Storm, H-base, Flume, Zookeeper, Solr, Kafka, HornetQ) desired
Proven experience developing java applications in an agile software environment using Java, JavaScript, Python, AngularJS, HTML
Knowledge of source code control systems (RCS, CVS, SVN, etc
Experience leading project activities for programmers
Individual track record of completing assignments on time or ahead of schedule
A keen interest in a fast-paced scientific learning environment with an emphasis on applying new skills, good written and oral communication skills, vast laboratory equipment knowledge, basic word processing skills, and a team oriented work ethic.
