- Responsible for projects such as web-based application development, website enhancements, desktop applications, database-backed websites and web layout enhancements.
- Participate in processes concerning the architecture of new applications.
- Code web pages utilizing XHTML and CSS.
- Work in several programming languages including JSP, PHP, and JavaScript.
- Work with an array of database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, etc.
- Responsible for working on several projects simultaneously as directed by management.
- Reviews, analyzes and modifies web systems including documenting, designing, developing, testing, monitoring, and maintaining as specified by management.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience
- Expert knowledge of standards-based XHTML and CSS coding (not WYSIWIG)
- Expert knowledge of programming languages including PHP and XML (other technologies such as Struts, Struts validation, Apache and Tomcat, XSL, XSLT, Ant Scripts, CVS, SOA and Web Services a plus)
- Extensive experience designing web sites
- Experience with both Microsoft and Linux operating systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with web-based software applications
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Web development related certifications highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate and create consensus
