JOB Description
Work with the project team in the creation of a new subject in OBIEE 12c. Participate in the process of
Identification of the systems required for the new subject area.
Identification of reporting requirements (users stories/use cases
Identification of the tables/fields required from the systems that are needed for reporting.
Ensure that identified system data sources are available in the data warehouse.
Coordinate with the OBIEE Administrator to get the data into the data warehouse.
Once the data is available in the data warehouse, build out the data model at the physical layer.
Bring the data model into the BI Administration Tool and build out the physical, logical and presentation layers.
Building analyses and dashboards based on defined requirements.
Responsibilities:
Translate business requirements into technical requirements (ETL considerations should be included in requirements definition) including
Define the Fact and Dimension tables and design model per requirements.
Convert complex SQL query solutions into OBIEE model solutions.
Create database objects in BI development database.
Document the flow of data from source to target for OBIEE Administrators.
Work with the OBIEE Administration Tool including
Physical layer: Adding the connectivity and tables.
Logical layer: Adding Business Requirements.
Presentation layer : Adding report columns.
Migrate OBIEE Model and Web Catalog from development to production and related objects such as OBIEE analyses, dashboards, prompts and related objects.
Work with PL SQL Procedures, Functions, Packages, Views, Materialized views whenever necessary.
Work with aggregates, cubes, hierarchies whenever necessary.
Implement Repository variables as well as system variables as per business requirements.
Work with Dynamic variables and initialization blocks.
Perform Performance tuning of OBIEE Application at dashboard and analysis level.
Coordinate with OBIEE report developers in the design and creation of analyses, dashboards, and prompts including
Coordinate with the OBIEE report developers and business subject matter experts to understand and collect requirements.
Creation and modification of different kinds of interactive dashboards and reports such as drill down report development, graphs, and/or charts as per requirement
Validate and reconcile data in the reports to ensure data accuracy
Applying presentation variables and how they are used at OBIEE reporting level
Assigning rights and access to the specific reports and dashboards
Update and Maintain OBIEE Data Dictionary.
Qualifications:
Experience with OBIEE implementation including knowledge of Administration Tool and modeling in all three RPD layers
Understanding of logical table sources and logical and physical mappings
BI / user experience, data visualization, story-telling, etc.
Ability to understand OBIEE SQL output logs
Excellent Communication skills required (interacting and working collaboratively)
