GENERAL FUNCTION:
Part of the systems engineering job family responsible for supporting the maintenance, analysis, installation, performance monitoring, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and administration of Middleware infrastructure (focus on MQ Assist in the research and implementation of new technologies. Function in Lead Engineering role in the research and implementation of new technologies and their potential match to business solutions. Provide Middleware administration and engineering support for all web-based applications of a high level of complexity.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must Have
1. Able to Maintain operations procedures for daily routine middleware processes
2. Four years of MQ administration experience with MQv8 on ''NIX
3. Middleware
4. Proveable understanding of MQ clustering concepts
5. Proveable understanding of MQ security concepts
6. Technical expert in problem resolution for middleware infrastructure hardware and software issues
Nice To Have
1. Ability to read/write shell scripts
2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable experience
3. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. MQ certifications are a plus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Function as a technical expert in problem resolution for middleware infrastructure hardware and software issues.
2. Establish proactive procedures and processes to maintain and operate middleware systems.
3. Manage the physical and logical configuration of all middleware infrastructures.
4. Assist with problem resolution for middleware infrastructure hardware and software issues.
5. Perform routine administrative tasks.
6. Assist with the development and analysis of performance metrics data to optimize the usage of the infrastructure resources.
7. Design and support daily monitoring of the middleware infrastructure.
8. Maintain operations procedures for daily routine middleware processes.
9. Lead development, planning, preparation and ongoing disaster recovery readiness.
10. Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements and qualifications.
11. Responsible for resolution of systems performance and production incidents, which may require 24 hr. /day and/or 7-day/week coverage.
12. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable experience
2. Documented four years of MQ administration experience with MQv8 on ''NIX
3. Documented experience with administration and operations of production systems
4. Documented ability to read/write shell scripts
5. Willingness to work occasional nights, weekends and holidays
6. Proveable understanding of MQ clustering concepts
7. Proveable understanding of MQ security concepts
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
9. MQ certifications are a plus
