Job Description/Skills :- Performance Engineer with Teradata

Strong experience in Teradata performance tuning
Experience with Teradata utilities and Teradata product suite is required.
Ensure the availability and performance of all databases while providing day-to-day database support
Design, evaluate and optimize database objects in conjunction with the development team
Experience with performance tuning within a Teradata environment (SQL, Joins, Indexes, Viewpoint, Explains)
Perform table Indexing, data compression and statistics collection
Perform Query tuning and system performance improvements
Investigate batch performance issues and provide solutions
Monitor database space availability and perform capacity planning
Advanced knowledge of handling large size Teradata systems on Linux platform.
Experience maintaining user profiles and security skills that are related to the databases
Performance trending and analysis including recommending indexing strategies, partitioning, compression opportunities and statistic collection planning.
Real time monitoring identifying and tuning poorly performing queries and providing improvement recommendations.
System administration and capacity planning including review and analysis of usage, capacity, and performance data
Performance review and trending of prior days workload using DBQL logs.
Application performance tuning using appropriate database management tool
Application-level capacity monitoring and planning
Capacity planning and space management utilizing PDCR, MVC and BLC.
Revamped Viewpoint systems to streamline real time performance monitoring
Revamped Viewpoint email alerts to only deliver actionable items (space and blocking)
Designed and wrote custom scripts to improve DBA productivity
Expertise in generating Space utilization reports and Users query performance reports
Expertise in Teradata space estimations for future projects.
Perform table Indexing, data compression and statistics collection
