System Administrator for the State of Georgia
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 12 Months

This expert-level System Administrator position is responsible for the planning, selection, implementation, maintenance, operation and capacity management of computing resources (physical, virtual and cloud) for Jefferson County.
This position will have the opportunity to work with industry leading systems that include Virtualization, Blade Systems and Storage technologies in both our new Tier II data center and using cloud resources.
These functions are provided for multiple versions of hardware, software operating systems, software applications and services such as, but not limited to, stand-alone, virtualized and cloud infrastructure; Windows and *IX operating systems; middleware such as Tomcat and Weblogic; Active Directory; Exchange; Unified Communications (VOIP, IVR, Voicemail); infrastructure management tools such as SCCM; data security systems; imaging systems; data backup and recovery systems; disaster recovery systems; data storage systems; Windows GPO’s, Windows Domain Controllers, vMware and NSX, VEEAM Backup knowledge
Workspace One (formerly Airwatch), Cisco UCS, Crowd Strike, PureStorage, Log Rhythm, Netwrix, ServiceNow, Trend Deep Security, Veritas Backup Exec, NTFS File Permissions and infrastructure monitoring systems. Services critical to County operations are supported by this infrastructure.
This position is expected to plan for capacity/demand; technology evolution; processes and procedures and customer support to ensure the on-going reliable and cost effective delivery of services to County employees and the public.

Required Education and Certifications:
Background check required. Education: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology BS or higher level degree is preferred.
Experience: Systems administration of moderate sized, complex data center systems and services. Technical leadership of small to moderate size teams.
Certifications: Currently certified in at least one (multiple certifications preferred): Following
o Microsoft - Solutions Associate (MCSA);
o Solutions Expert (MCSE);
o Solutions Master (MCSM);
o Technology Specialist (MCTS); IT Professional (MCITP
o On call status for service impacting maintenance and critical service outages
