12 month contract

Enterprise Data Platform upgrade at EWS
Ideally, they would like the candidate to start in October.
Recent Infosphere/Datastage, ETL and the ability to write complex SQL.
They can work remotely until Jan 4, but will need to be able to relocate to Scottsdale, AZ.
Communication is key as this resource will be interfacing with Program Manager, Dev Teams and Architecture teams.
Sr SQL Database Engineer – Datastage/ETL
Overall Purpose
This senior position supports design and operation of 24 x 7 environments and ensures availability performance, integrity, and security of the data.
Essential Functions
· Design, install, maintain and upgrade database systems.
· Identify, prioritize, and perform day-to-day database administration activities.
· Demonstrate technical expertise in the use of database theory and technology as well as underlying physical or Cloud-based infrastructure services.
· Collaborate and facilitate, pro-actively with internal staff to define and resolve issues, including information flow and content issues and helping to transform business requirements into environment specific databases.
· Identify, monitor and analyze performance metrics and allocate database resources to achieve optimum database performance.
· Participate in rotating on call support in a 24 x 7 production environment and be available as secondary for critical event escalation.
· Identify and implement automation of administrative tasks to enable the business.
· Identify and implement performance analysis and tuning.
· Supporting the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Minimum Qualifications
· Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
· A minimum of 5 years database engineering experiences
· Experience with RDBMS technologies including Oracle RDBMS On Linux, and Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL. Experience with Cloud DBaaS solutions and tools such as Azure, AWS RDS, Cloud Watch, etc.
· Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Effective problem solving skills within a complex work environment.
· Ability to work outside normal business hours and provide on call support.
· Background and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
· Recent ETL and Infosphere/Datastage experience
· Additional related education and/or experience preferred
