Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Design, support and maintain large Splunk environment in a highly available, redundant, geographically dispersed environment
Perform Splunk agent deployment, configuration and troubleshooting across a variety of platforms
Install and configure Splunk DB Connect
Deploy new Splunk systems
Monitor Splunk internal logs to identify and resolve existing or potential issues
Monitor the Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization
Troubleshoot technical issues to determine root cause and resolve or implement workaround as necessary
Reproduce customer issues, file bug reports and escalate cases to Splunk support as necessary
Perform Red Hat Enterprise Linux tasks as they pertain to supporting the Splunk application
Author, modify and troubleshoot various automation scripts
Maintain Splunk systems internal documentation
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a broad knowledge of technology
Should be comfortable working for a dynamic technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
Ideally would possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally to emails, and when submitting reports
Need to be organized and analytical, and be able to eliminate any obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches
Must Have:
Minimum 5 years of IT experience
3+ years'' experience with Splunk
3+ years’ experience developing and supporting complex Splunk dashboards and reports
Required Skills:
Experience installing, configuring and administering Splunk (prefer knowledge of version 7.X)
Proficient with various text pattern matching semantics, particularly PERL and SED based regular expressions
Experience with Pivot and Modeling
Knowledge of ITSI and Machine Learning a plus
Experience with one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, Java, Javascript, XML, CSS)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
