Job Description

·         The role will work within the Client team on our Client Platform Support partnering with other teams, product owners, customers and executives. The Senior Splunk Developer is responsible for delivering automated monitoring solutions to improve platform transparency and service availability and stability. This role will leverage key/core Splunk capabilities like machine learning, predictive analytics, within an ITSI model. (IT Service Intelligence)

  • Create scalable Splunk dashboards that align with key KPI's that move us closer to a purpose-built solution that leverages AI, predictive analytics and machine learning
  • Create Splunk dashboards that ensure platform resilience, transparency, and availability across a big data ecosystem
  • Create Splunk dashboards that enable our platform support team to predict, identify and resolve problems within our ecosystem in a near real-time manner
  • Leverage innovations like ITSI to create best in class visualizations that can be shared across our platform
  • Support and maintain existing Splunk dashboards that aim to improve the availability, scalability, SLA, and efficiency of Core services platform and applications
  • Solve problems related to the Core services systems and the buildout of automation to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions
  • Influence and create new Splunk dashboard designs, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems
  • Develop Splunk service capacity planning and demand forecasting dashboards by leveraging machine learning and predictive analytics
  • Troubleshoot and mitigate problems in mission-critical systems by leveraging Splunk
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for other team members regarding Splunk and ITSI
  • Partnering with other dev teams at Splunk and subcontractors
  • Integrate via API and dev tools EDR/RMM and other components as needed
  • Works with development teams to identify improvements in our monitoring framework
  • Supports application Technology risk execution and compliance initiatives

 

Required Qualifications

·         US Citizen able to pass a background security screening

·         7+ years of systems analysis experience, systems programming experience or combination of both

·         3+ years of Splunk experience


Desired Qualifications

·         Experience in managing IT infrastructure for a medium-to-large organization

·         Relationship management experience with organizational partners and customers

·         5+ years of experience with Agile, Kanban, or Lean methodology

·         Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation

·         Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

·         A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology

·         Knowledge and understanding of incident management: gathering impacts and analyzing data

·         Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Other Desired Qualifications

·         1+ year of Splunk ITSI experience

·         Splunk Certification


Job Expectations

·         Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day

·         Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours
