Role: Microsoft Unified Communications System Engineer Work location: Atlanta, GA Long term contract This position might also require to travel Domestic/International (France, China, UK and Romania etc POSITION SUMMARY: Unified Communications System Engineer DEPARTMENT: Information Technology The Microsoft Unified Communications (UC) Operations Engineer is primarily responsible for implementations and supporting operations for the Microsoft Teams environment. This includes all aspects of managing Teams and Direct Routing services in O365, audio and video conferencing, and proactive monitoring using call quality dashboards. The role will also support other O365 collaboration tools, room-based Audio/Video systems and some desktop services tools in an operational capacity. The Microsoft Unified Communications System Engineer plays a technical lead role in the planning, selection, build, and maintenance of high-quality enterprise messaging and collaboration solutions that meet defined and emerging business capability needs in a cost-effective way. Partners with IT Network and Security Enterprise Architects to establish, understand, and adhere to technical and IT security standards. Involved in all aspects of the technology lifecycle to ensure that non-functional and functional requirements are adhered to in design and build so solutions are stable, secure, resilient, and perform well. Ensures that systems are maintained and supported to run effectively in production. Job Duties: Support Microsoft Teams Direct Routing voice deployment across global office locations Partner with vendors to proactively troubleshoot operational issues throughout the deployment and steady state. Manage production changes for Microsoft Teams and other O365 products. Analyze and report call analytics using the Call Quality Dashboard. Proactively monitor and manage Microsoft Teams Rooms Systems. Deploy and test voice and video hardware in a lab environment. Help analyze, define and recommend UC service improvements. Engage with peers to help adoption of Microsoft Teams. Manage the CMDB for O365 and corresponding services and hardware Manage global telecommunication circuit inventory Establish, maintain and promote engineering documentation standards Project team member involved in the design and deployment of full-life cycle contact center project integrations including call center workflows. Perform analysis and diagnosis of complex voice and data network issues. Perform problem resolution technical deep dives and root cause analysis. Define telephony and UC architectural and operational standards. Work with customer, vendors, and internal teams to deploy designed solutions. Participate in technical sessions with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions. Participate as a "hands-on" engineer on project deployments. Maintain and develop relationships with clients and vendor partners. Evaluate and recommend new technologies. Maintain technical certifications as required. Provide consistent and frequent project status updates and project issues to IT leadership. Document and draft professional quality incident reports for all appropriate incidents. Direct, document and manage implementations of new UC/IPT solutions. Manage and maintain a variety of monitoring consoles as required. May be required to perform other related duties / projects as assigned. Mandatory Requirements: 4 or more years of experience in Unified Communications domain with Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business with Enterprise Voice. Vendor certifications such as MCSE Productivity (strongly preferred), AudioCodes, Avaya ACSS, CCIE Collaboration, IBM Certified System Administrator Sametime V9.0 Extensive knowledge and experience on complete design and deployment of Microsoft Skype for Business and Teams with calling plan. Experience designing and implementing complex and multinational UC deployments. Experience with vendor and manufacturer-provided remote access and provisioning tools to support remote and onsite deployments. Strong knowledge of Windows OS, logs and events required. Excellent oral & written communication, listening and presentation skills. Strong technical documentation skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language for a non-technical audience. Highly self-motivated and action oriented. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Knowledge of O365, MS Office, SharePoint, MS Project, and Visio. Desired Requirements: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Experience with Cisco network stack a plus.
