Role
A Senior Systems/Windows Administrator with 15 years of experience is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and managing enterprise-level Windows infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, performance, and scalability of servers, Active Directory environments, virtualization platforms, and cloud-integrated systems. The administrator also leads infrastructure projects, manages incident resolution, and provides strategic guidance on systems modernization and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022).Perform installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of server OS and related services.Monitor server performance and ensure high availability.Design, implement, and manage Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.Oversee identity governance, OU structure, domain trusts, and access controls.Manage AD security hardening, auditing, and role-based access.Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, monitor, and support cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or hybrid).implement and manage Azure AD, ADFS, Intune, and cloud-based identity solutions.Apply security best practices, manage OS hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management.Configure and manage endpoint protection, firewalls, and threat monitoring tools.Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, etc.).Create automation and system management scripts using PowerShell, Python, or other tools.Automate patching, deployments, monitoring tasks, and system reporting.Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) where applicable (ARM, Terraform, DSC).
Required Skills & Expertise
15 years of experience in Windows Server and enterprise IT infrastructure.Expertise in Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, GPOs, PKI, and identity services.Strong experience in virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls).Experience with security controls, patching, compliance, and endpoint protection tools.Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
