Job Description
A Senior Data Architect is responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing an organization’s data architecture. This role ensures that data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals, enabling efficient data processing, analytics, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement enterprise data architecture (data lakes, warehouses, pipelines)
Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical)
Define data governance, standards, and best practices
Collaborate with stakeholders (business, IT, analytics teams) to align data strategy with business needs
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security
Lead the selection and implementation of data platforms and tools
Optimize data systems for performance and scalability
Guide teams on ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and migration
Mentor junior data engineers, analysts, and architects
Stay updated with emerging technologies (cloud, AI, big data)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Technical Skills
Strong experience with data modeling and database design
Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases
Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions
Experience with cloud platforms like:
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Microsoft Azure
Google Cloud Platform
Knowledge of big data technologies such as:
Apache Hadoop
Apache Spark
Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend)
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Experience
8–15+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles
Proven experience in designing large-scale data systems
Experience leading technical teams or projects
