Title: Senior Cobol Developer
Location : Irvine, CA, 4 days onsite hybrid work (local candidates only)
Duration : 6 months plus
Contract: C2C/W2
Responsibilities will include creation of technical specifications, architecting high-end solutions hands-on development, creating test plans according to State Street published development process framework, and providing production support.
The candidate will develop enhancements for our in-house suite of applications written in COBOL
Must Have:
•Senior COBOL developer
•Strong SQL skills
•Experience with relational databases (Sybase is ideal)
•Unix, Unix shell scripting, and Linux experience required.
•The quality of one’s experience is way more valuable than the number of years. Candidates that have proven mastery of multiple applications and environments tend to have well rounded skill sets.
•Autosys experience
Other interests for the manager to see:
•Ability to communicate in detail the candidate's role in current and former projects.
•Ability to describe in detail how the candidate goes about Requirement Gathering and interaction with Technical/Business Analysts and other development staff.
•Ability to explain/describe an existing implementation of Autosys
Skills:
•The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a.Senior Cobol Developer.
•Experience with Fujitso NetCobol or MicroFocus Cobol a big plus
•Experience with Autosys desired.
•Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, and production support.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
•Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills.
•Good project management skills.
•Possesses the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•Experience testing software designed for elaborate business scenarios.
•Aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines.
