Position: Scrum Master Location: Indianapolis, IN Write up/Summary is required at the top of the resume that reflects WHY the candidate is a fit. The write up should focus on speaking about the Skills/attributes section of the job description Scrum Master Job Indianapolis, IN 6 Months - Contract to Hire *Must pass a drug test and background check once offered position* Projects the candidate will be working on: scrum master for agile delivery team for individual health insurance Ideal Background: Background in Kanban and other Agile processes Experience working with more than one team Experience with offshore and otherwise distributed teams Rally Experience (this is our planning and execution tool) Team and Team size: Team will most likely be made up of 8 to 10 staff including a capability owner, 4 developers, a systems analyst, and 3 quality engineers. Responsibilities: Act as a buffer between the software development teams and any distracting influences Safeguard the quality of the products Ensure that the Scrum process is used as intended and continually improved. Enforce the rules of Scrum, facilitate key meetings, and challenge the teams to innovate Help the team with the planning of the Sprints, prioritization of the sprint backlog, coordinate the development process, identify and eliminate obstacles that prevent the team from achieving their goals, prepare burndown charts, and ensure crystal clear communication among everyone involved in the project. Primary Qualifications: Minimum of three years of ScrumMaster experience Demonstrated solid understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures Experienced with leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency Must be self-motivated, positive, energetic, confident, and ethical with a strong drive for results Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and knowledge transfer skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Capable of working individually and in a multidisciplinary team Bachelors degree (or greater) in Computer Science or related field Competencies: Servant Leader - Must be able to garner respect from his/her team and be willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done Communicative and social - Must be able to communicate well with teams Facilitative - Must be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team Assertive - Must be able to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls Situational Awareness - Must be the first to notice differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to management Enthusiastic - Must be high-energy Continual improvement - Must continually be growing ones craft learning new tools and techniques to manage oneself and a team Conflict resolution - Must be able to facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches Attitude of empowerment - Must be able to lead a team to self-organization Attitude of transparency - Must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business about development and grow business trust Quick learner - Must be able to quickly gain a high level understanding of the technical and business domains of the Scrum teams Highly Desired Qualifications: ScrumMaster, CSPO or other Scrum certifications. Background in Kanban and other Agile processes Experience working with more than one team Experience with offshore and otherwise distributed teams.
