Position: Scrum Master

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6-month CTH

Job Description:

The ideal candidate must have strong leadership, project management and agile capabilities and be able to work cross organizationally to ensure successful delivery. The candidate must be able to translate complex technical concepts into business terms, working closely with executive leadership within IT and business to provide options and solutions. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the project.

Formal Education & Certification

·  University degree or college diploma required

·  Certification in project management a plus

·  Certified Scrum Master a plus

 

Knowledge & Experience

·  7+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution in a technology environment.

·  5+ years in agile delivery as a Scrum Master

·  Product delivery experience within a Scrum & KANBAN environment is required.

·  Experience working with multiple scrum teams depending on each other for deliverables

·  Facilitate Scrum meetings. Promote Team collaboration, track and communicate team velocity, burndown, and sprint progress.

·  Communicate project status and risks to leadership.

·  Support the product owner by maintaining the Scrum/Kanban board and assist in dependency management and cross-team coordination.

·  Partner with Product Owners and team members to learn and practice healthy backlog management and prioritization practices.  Focus delivery on the customer value stream.

·  Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices

·  Support the Product Team by mentoring the product owners and team members in agile practices, facilitating continuous improvement and the development of a learning culture on teams and facilitating conflict resolution and remove team impediments.

·  Experience generating performance reports / metrics for the agile teams is required.

·  Strong familiarity with project management software, including MS Project.

·  Strong familiarity with agile software tools (e.g. Jira, Slack).

·  Technically competent with various software programs, such as MS Office Suite.

·  Technical familiarity with web based applications, SAAS solutions, back end databases and system integration.

·  Knowledge of QA testing.

·  Business Analysis background to aid in validation of user stories and acceptance criteria would be helpful.
