Mainframe Programmer Analyst Responsibilities:
* The Mainframe Programmer Analyst will support the areas of Mainframe optimization and modernization initiatives and to enable several technology transformations,
the underlying architecture of the core platforms need to be analyzed and evaluated for their ability to support the initiatives.
* Provide technical systems and software support for analysis, new technology adoption, migration and optimization of mainframe applications.
* Proficient to work independently on the most complex projects, and often on multiple phases.
* Provides guidance and checks the work of less experienced associates (applicable for lead analyst
* Strong system analysis and problem resolutions skills.
* Ability to independently analyze mainframe applications and its components and write assessment reports.
* Works with customer application team and SMEs to understand their current application landscape and future needs.
Mainframe Programmer Analyst Required Skills:
* Experience in depth knowledge and expertise in mainframe programming technologies such as Assembler, COBOL, PL/1, Easytrieve, JCL, TSO/ISPF, CA7/CA-11, Endevor, Vantage, FTP, and standard IBM Mainframe development tools
* Minimum of 6 years'' experience in developing applications with COBOL,PL/1, BMS,VSAM, CICS, JCL , IDMS and IMS DC and mainframe database management systems like DB2, IMS DB.
* Demonstrated proficiency in COBOL, PL/1, JCL, BMS and DB2 including Structured Query language SQL Embedded
* Should be familiar with DB2 tools, RACF, File-Aid, scheduler (CA-7/CA-11), TSO/IPF, Print and output management and debugger tools.
* SQL Stored Procedure development DB2 Batch Programming.
* Participates in systems analysis activities including system requirements analysis for modernization and optimization.
* Intermediate to advanced understanding and knowledge of DB2 relational database and its constructs including creating and using a Physical Model
* Working knowledge of DB2 associated tools
* BMC Omegamon JCL ISPF TSO Performance tuning.
* Knowledge and experience with MQ Series
* Experience of working with manufacturing customers will be added advantage.
* Ability to develop IT strategy and translate it into tangible benefits.
Mainframe Programmer Analyst Assignment Length : 3 Month Contract with possible extension.
