| In this role you will be responsible for defining, documenting and validating roadmaps and requirements for APIs and backend systems This role you will be responsible for defining, documenting and validating roadmaps and requirements for APIs and backend systems . This role requires experience and comfort as a software engineer as well as some experience and passion for translating product and technical needs into defined requirements that engineers can execute from. This role will require excellent communication and negotiation skills, as a large part of the work will be staying in close communication with both the Product team and other Engineering teams to understand their needs as it relates to APIs and backend systems. | |
· Hands-on requirements gathering and documentation of features; working with Product and engineering teams to capture requirements, working with API engineering teams to execute and working with QA teams to vet that requirements are met (70%)
· Partner closely with engineering management and product management to ensure proper priority of requirements and proper maintenance of the backlog (15%)
· Work with Product team for longer-term vision to build long-term roadmap for the APIs and backend systems (15%)
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business, or equivalent
· 5+ years of strong experience in designing, developing and delivering software solutions at scale
· Comfortable working knowledge of APIs and backend systems
· Comfortable understanding of common AWS services
· Experience and comfort with identifying and documenting technical requirements that development teams can use to execute work
· Experience with Jira or similar ALM tools to document requirements and create stories/tasks
· Positive can-do attitude while collaborating with other teams and business stakeholders
· Must be detail oriented, self-organized
· Excellent verbal, non-verbal, inter-personal, and written communication skills across all levels within and outside the company
