Quality Engineer III

Duration: 18 Months

Location DFW, Atlanta, DC or NY/NJ

Note - This would be manual testing of mobile applications (iOS & Android), reporting tools (Charles proxy/JIRA), & any API/protocol-tied apps.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with QA and functional/development teams to understand end-to-end functionality supporting our mobile apps.

Solves complex testing challenges and works on complex projects with minimal supervision

Performs manual tests, works with QA and functional/development teams to triage test results

Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.

Assist with executing non-functional testing in terms of performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with other systems

Write test plans and test cases for new features and product offerings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a combination of equivalent education and experience

3+ years of professional software QA/QE experience involving manual testing of consumer-facing mobile applications (iOS and Android).

Tester's Mindset -This role will require both strong testing acumen as well as technical knowledge and problem-solving skills inherent in mobile application testing.

Experience using test and reporting tools such as Charles proxy and JIRA

Requirements and General Skills:

Strong background in software quality and at least 3+ years of working in testing mobile applications

Thorough understanding of SDLC, specific QA processes in agile development environments

Experience with all phases of software testing, including test planning, functional testing, and regression testing

Experience in planning, writing, and executing test plans and test cases

Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment, multi-task, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner

Ability to acquire the knowledge necessary to perform job assignments (technology, product and process)

Troubleshooting - Exceptional ability to isolate & troubleshoot technical issues across the full technology stack by leveraging software testing methodologies

Excellent communication, time management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

Experience in testing streaming applications is a plus

Technical Skills:

Extensive experience with manual testing of functional aspects of mobile applications (iOS and/or Android)

Solid understanding of REST API and HTTP requests and responses

Able to identify opportunities for automation of feature testing

Experience testing all layers of a web application, including front-end, service layer, and back-end testing.
