Must Haves:
Experience in Oracle PL/SQL, Exadata environment
Must have 8 years of experience in Data warehouse/ETL application development.
Minimum 5 years architectural/design experience in building applications in Oracle or Teradata.
Experience in Database architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, BTEQ, Unix shell scripting, workload analysis and management, security implementation, performance monitoring & management.

Plus:
Strong with java

Day to day:
Take requirements and write design document for the dev team
Needs to jump on any production issues

Job Description
As a part of Retail Pharmacy Data warehouse Operations team, this role is responsible for:
Software development lifecycle activities: estimating, requirements, design, build, reviews, test and deployment of Data Warehouse applications.
Is accountable for database design leveraging constructs such as Join indexes, Statistics, and Partitioned tables
Design and develop load processes using SQL & PL/SQL, BTEQ and queries for very large databases (100 TB+) with complex workloads and large transaction volumes.
Work on identification and optimization of sub-optimal queries & load processes.
Review, update, and maintain Oracle related system architecture documentation, and create Oracle detail design documents that will be followed by the oracle developers to build data maps, packages, procedures and other build components.
Create design pattern templates for deliverable objects and communicate functional and technical requirements to application development teams.
Drive and lead projects during the implementation, test and deploy phases.
Understand data and develop subject matter expertise on complex applications.
Review logical and physical data models to support complex end user dashboard/reports and queries.
Proactively identify & mitigate technical issues and help with fine tuning queries for efficient performance.
Work in a matrix environment consisting of Solution, Business Intelligence, and Data Integration & Quality Assurance teams and successfully collaborate to meet the project objectives.
Responsible for problem solving and troubleshooting design and development issues and provide appropriate solutions.
Works on one or more projects at all stages of the system lifecycle
Adopt features/best practices introduced in newer versions of Oracle/Teradata.
Assist development teams in writing complex queries in efficient way leverage Oracle/Teradata best standards and practices.
Provide assistance in deployment and project/product migration efforts.
Serve as the subject matter expert for the system in production.
