Job Description :

Our client is seeking a Oracle Database Engineer who is responsible for implementation, support and maintenance of critical database environments. The Oracle Database Engineer will be responsible for administration of these environments includes clustering, storage, securing, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. The Oracle Database Engineer will help manage and support current and future database and storage environments and initiatives, and proactively evaluate physical and logical design and architecture of the systems to keep up with the dynamic and growing business needs.

Responsibilities:

·  Perform logical database design review and physical database implementations.

·  Perform database performance and query tuning

·  Proactively manage and optimize various database platforms and related OS environments

·  Perform database backups, restores, log shipping, mirroring and replication, etc.

·  Implement and maintain production databases

·  Work with system engineering team on database server installation, configuration and system performance tuning and capacity planning

·  Respond to production and business-critical issues and needs on 24/7 basis and rotate in an on-call schedule

Requirements:

·  5+ years of production Oracle database administration experience

·  Experience with clustering, replication and mirroring a plus

·  Strong UNIX/Linux skills

·  Must have T-SQL or PL/SQL experience

·  Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools

·  Strong technical problem-solving skills essential

·  Experience working with SQL Server, Postgres, InfluxDB or MySQL a plus

·  SAN knowledge a plus

·  Must demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills

·  Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to different work environments

·  Proven ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and efficiently handle pressure and stress

·  Must be self-motivated, possess strong initiative, and be willing to take on new challenges

·  Strong understanding of and the proven ability to comply with SDLC, source control and change management protocols

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
