Job Description:
The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) requires the services of one experienced Oracle Database Administrator hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Database Administrator III/Database Administrator 3 and the specifications outlined in this document for Railroad Commission of Texas ITS Division.

This role will provide technical support for daily operations within the Infrastructure and Operations Team responsible for administration, building and deployment of agency Microsoft Windows, Salesforce and java-based application server software and hardware systems.

This role will provide support for all database activities within the software development lifecycle, develops scripts and stored procedures, designs and develops scripts for data exchange between Oracle and the RRC’s Mainframe systems, creates and manages RRC’s Oracle databases for development and testing, and promotes all application related database changes between the different environments.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Years Required/Preferred Experience
8 Required Seven (7) + years Database Administration experience on Oracle 11g/12c/18c RDBMS
5 Required Five (5) + years’ experience with RHEL Linux or Oracle Linux. Five (5) + years’ experience with shell scripting bash/korn
2 Required Two (2) + years’ experience with database sql tuning Two (2) + years’ experience in managing multiple environments in support of Application Development and Testing Two (2) + years’ experience in designing and developing data migration scripts Two (2) + y
1 Required Knowledge of Active Data Guard and Goldengate; Knowledge of DBaas, Iaas, Paas, SaaS; Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) and Data warehousing

Preferred:
5 Preferred Five (5) + years’ experience with ESRI GIS SDE administration
2 Preferred Two (2) + years’ experience with Experience with Salesforce Platform
1 Preferred Oracle certification (OCA or better)
1 Preferred Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
