Position: Master GIS Applications Developer
Location: Onsite in Washington DC or Kansas City, MO
Duration: Long term Contract
The Master GIS Developer will be primarily responsible for the maintenance & development of GIS desktop applications, ability to support python scripting and web mapping applications in .NET framework using .NET ADF, ArcGIS Server, and JavaScript API. Master Developer will be a key contributor to our GIS team and responsible for trouble shooting issues with current legacy GIS applications, development of new functionality, work with ArcSDE databases/ArcGIS Server, and be able to streamline existing geospatial procedures. Developer is primary responsible for maintaining ArcGIS Desktop tools and building new functionalities for GIS web products. In this role you will assume responsibility of full project lifecycle on assigned projects and required to lead the in-house developers on task assignments. You must have the ability to work in a diverse group of GIS development staff and represent our quality standards. Work will be onsite in Washington DC.
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, MIS, or related field and 9+ years’ experience.
OR a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, MIS, or related field and 7+ years’ experience.
Minimum 7 year of software development experience in ArcGIS desktop programming using ArcObjects and .Net technologies; ArcGIS Desktop 10.6.1, ArcSDE, ArcEngine, Visual Studio 2017 or later versions, .NET, C
Ability to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance.
Team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge in Object Oriented Programming concepts.
Experience writing Python scripts.
Experience writing unit tests for GIS applications.
Experience with continuous integration, Maven/Jenkins; Source control in Subversion.
Experience trouble shooting GIS database issues along with strong working knowledge in SQL server, SQL server management studio.
Experience in GIS web technologies is a big plus but not required; ESRI JavaScript 4.X API, XML, JSON, GEOJSON, JavaScript, HTML, Web services, Angular, NPM, SOAP/REST, Visual Studio Code.
Agile methodologies, working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
Experience leading and mentoring junior developers on the team.
Excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication, design, development, and debugging skills.
Experience or exposure working in Java based environment is a plus.
Ability to work in US; Active Public Trust security clearance.
GISP certification.
