This person is capable of working independently most of the time. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Execute projects to maintain and enhance the IT Infrastructure of the terminal. 2. Follow daily routine support policies to insure that the facility operates with maximum uptime and effectiveness. Participate in after-hours operations center support on a rotating basis. Assist Desktop Support team with maintenance / troubleshooting issues for desktop / laptop computer hardware and software. Participate in monitoring and support for Servers / Network / Firewall sub-systems. Provide support for all Telecommunications Systems. This includes voice and data. It also includes all technical liaisons with outside service providers of communications facilities. Insure that all network points of access wired or wireless comply with cybersecurity and anti-virus policies. Install new server / network / storage hardware according to site standards. Install software updates related to operating systems and applications software in a manner consistent with site standards. Develop sufficient competency in related IT functions to be effective in troubleshooting problems during normal and extended business hours. Supervisory responsibilities: None. Skills & Experience: Familiarity with the following technologies, processes and platforms: Advanced knowledge of Windows OS / MS Exchange; familiarity with Linux and MAC Operating Systems Advanced knowledge of VMware Advanced knowledge of Cisco Network (Switches, Routers, Wi-Fi Access points) Configuration Cisco, Fortinet, F5 Firewall Configuration Enterprise Server Configuration (Dell, HP) VPN Configuration Physical Racking and Cabling of Enterprise Devices Alarm Monitoring Ticketing System Use Customer Service Requirements: 5-8 Years' Experience in Systems / Network support Required to observe all safety and health requirements for container terminal environment. Must develop rapport with all levels of employees and external persons. Effective planning skills and successful management of multiple priorities are necessary Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate general high level management traits such as good decision making, independent judgement, motivation, delegation, leadership, problem solving, contingency planning, etc., as necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. The ability to work at either GCT NY or GCT Bayonne as requested in support of GCT USA Physical Working Condition: The ability to climb up and down ladders. The ability to work in changing hot and cold climates based on weather conditions. The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment. Working hours for GCT Bayonne and GCT NY are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Individual may be required to work overtime, weekend hours and regular shift rotations.
