Infrastructure Security Engineer

100% Remote

Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role focuses on protecting systems, networks, and data from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement security solutions for networks, servers, cloud, and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Monitor systems for security breaches, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and penetration testing coordination.
  • Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection tools.
  • Ensure secure configuration and hardening of systems and infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into system design and deployment.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, performing root cause analysis.
  • Maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Stay updated on emerging threats, tools, and security trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in infrastructure or cybersecurity roles.
  • Strong understanding of network security, system administration, and cloud security.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools (firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS).
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Windows) and networking protocols.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management tools and security frameworks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and automation tools.
