Role: Data Analyst
Duration – 6 months (filling in for maternity leave)
Location – Must be in IL
Requirements – SQL, Tableau, Alteryx
Preferred experience – from the financial service industry
Responsibilities:
The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:
Support the ongoing project deliveries of the Data Analytics team
o Creating dashboards & data visualizations to support various business functions
o Improving data governance, data quality validation, and tracking
o Support deployment, automation, and ongoing management of these solutions
Analyze data using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and SQL to develop and automate reports
Design and develop Alteryx workflows to source, transform, and prepare data for use in Tableau dashboards and for ad-hoc analyses
Perform activities for data extraction, data validation, data cleansing, data harmonization, exception handling, and data transformation
Design and build a data inventory including field definitions, list of values, and mappings
Leverage a variety of tool (Alteryx, SQL, etc to assess data quality, prepare automated reports for tracking data quality related metrics, and assist in resolving data quality problems if possible
Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on experience with data analysis, data wrangling/ETL, and data visualization in a business environment, with:
o 2+ years with Tableau and creating data visualizations
o 2+ years with Alteryx for performing data validation, ETL, and data automation
o 2+ years with SQL and various database tools
Highly proficient in SQL, creating complex queries, and building and analyzing datasets
Experience with creating Alteryx data flows, and deploying & automating them to Alteryx Server
Adept at data exploration and able to quickly understand how to link and model disparate data sets
Basic understanding of data models and concepts, including relational databases, and dimensional models
Experience in the financial services industry, with an understanding of relevant data domains such as financial instruments, transactions, positions, counterparties, etc.
Experience with basic data modeling and DDL is a plus
Strong technical skills and business analysis skills
Undergraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the asset management industry
Familiarity with Python is a plus
Experience with data quality and data governance initiatives is a plus
