Job Title: Cloud Desktop Engineer

Role Overview:
The Cloud Desktop Engineer will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and support of cloud-based desktop solutions as part of the Modern Desktop Program. This role is based in London and will support the global transition from legacy VDI infrastructure to modern cloud desktop environments. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions to ensure seamless deployment, performance optimization, and user experience improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud desktop solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.
- Collaborate with global teams to support the migration of users from on-prem VDI to cloud desktops.
- Monitor and optimize performance, availability, and scalability of cloud desktop environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with regional and global regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years focused on cloud desktop or VDI technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Terraform).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise change management processes.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or Citrix Certified Associate.
